#Photographe
am an independent, British photo-journalist, currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.

I read Computer Science at the University of Sheffield, where I graduated with a first-class B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence with honours, before pursuing a Ph.D. in Knowledge Management Using Intelligent Web Techniques whilst working as a research associate in the Web Intelligence Group at Sheffield.

I then spent three years working in Paris, France, as technical director of an online media company.

Information is what has driven me through my professional career: in its early stages, the management and access to information, and then to its presentation, and making it usable.

In 2011, I began working in photo-journalism—becoming a primary source of information—whilst covering South Sudan's referendum for independence, and its subsequent split from Khartoum.

Since then, I have covered several conflicts, including Libya, Syria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as the drought in the Horn of Africa and several of the continent's elections.

My clients include Agence France-Presse (AFP), TIME magazine, the Times, the Sunday Telegraph, the Guardian, Le Monde, Libération, Le Figaro and Al-Jazeera.
